Biography
1881 Born in Kazan, Russia
1895 - 1900 Studied in the Art School of Kazan
1908 Won a first prize at the Spring exhibition in the Academy. Later received a Golden medal at the International Exhibition in Munich.
1900 - 1909 Student of I. Repin in Imperial Academy of Fine Arts
1909 Taught in the Art School of Kazan
1910 Participated in the Seccession exhibition in Munich
1912 Regular participant of the Peredvizhniki group exhibitions
1912 Exhibited with the Independent Artist Association in St Petersburg
1910 - 1914 Exhibited in the Carnegie Institute in Pittsburgh
1914 Exhibited with the Independent Artist Association in St Petersburg
1914 International exhibition in Venice
1916 Member of the Peredvizhniki group and a member of the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts
1923 Emigrated to the USA
1924 Won the First prize of the New York Academy of Arts
1926 Won the Gold Medal on the International exhibition in Philadelphia
1927 Moved to Taos, New Mexico
1932 Exhibition of Russian art in Philadelphia
1933 Divorced with his wife Alexandra Belkovich and moved to Los Angeles
1939 Travelled in Mexico, Japan and Indonesia
1955 Died in the USA
