Biography
1929 Born: Wuxi, near Shanghai, China
1946 Moved to Japanese Hong-Kong
1952 Relocated to Paris and began association with avante-garde COBRA artists including Pierre Alechinsky,
Asger Jorn and Karel Appel
1958 Moved to New York, became aquainted with the Abstract Expressionist artists
1970 Guggenheim Fellowship Award (for drawing)
1974 Becomes a US citizen.
1990 - 1999 Lived in Amsterdam and New York
2009 First UK exhibition (Catto Gallery, London) since suffering a stroke in 2002
Currently lives in Amstelveen, the Netherlands.
