Biography
Born in 1951 in Auckland, New Zealand. Blake is part of a family devoted to the sea, as well as to art. Both parents exhibit their work regularly in New Zealand and Blake's brother, Peter, is the internationally acclaimed yachtsman, winner of the 1990 Whitbread Round the World Yacht Race.
A. D. Blake graduated from Auckland University Engineering School with the Fould Memorial Award for best Master's Degree, Blake has since left his career as a Civil Engineer and has devoted his time to maritime paintings.
His works have been acquired by many private and corporate collections in the United States, Canada, British Virgin Islands and New Zealand.
He has held successful exhibitions in New York and prestigous commissions from private collectors and yacht clubs in New England.
