Biography
Christophe von Hohenberg studied art, philosophy and history in Germany, France and Spain, and then graduated from Schiller University in Paris before beginning his work with American Vogue in 1979. In the 1980s, Hohenberg expanded his career to work with such publications as Interview, Vanity Fair, Marie Claire, German Vogue, German Rolling Stone, The New York Times Magazine, French Vogue, and Hamptons Magazine.
Hohenberg’s critically acclaimed book Andy Warhol: The Day the Factory Died with Charlie Scheips (Worldwide Director of Photography for Phillips de Pury) received the Photo District News Photography Book Award and the AIGA Book Award in 2007.
His work has been shown at The Museum of Modern Art and The Grey Art Gallery in New York City, the Art Interior in Berlin, and the Valentina Moncada in Rome. In 2007-2008, Hohenberg had solo exhibitions at Affirmations Arts in New York City, The Goss-Michael Foundation in Dallas, the Amerika Haus in Munich, and the Rudolf Budja Galerie in Salzburg, and was recently profiled by German Vanity Fair. Hohenberg divides his time between New York City, the Hamptons and the West Indies.
