Biography
1909 Born March 11, Budapest, Hungary
1922 Moved to Oak park, IL
1937 Moved to Hollywood, CA
1937 Studied at the Chouinard Art Institute, Los Angeles, CA
1938 - 1941 Worked as an animator on the Walt Disney films "Fantasia" and "Bambi"
1942 - 1944 Served in the First Motion Picture United, the first unit of the United States Military to be made up entirely of motion picture personnel, as an animator
1957 Along with Her Kylnn was active as Format Films, producing "The Chipmunks," and other pgorams
1944 - 1959 One of the founding member of the United Productions of America studio and worked as a background artist
1959 - 1962 Launched Format Films with former UPA colleagues Herbert Klynn and Buddy Getzler
1962 Moved to Paris, France
1970 Became the founding director of the Abstract Experimental Animation on Film Department for the California Institute of the Arts
1970 Returned to the U.S. and founded CalArts' Program in Experimental Animation
2003 Died
