Biography
1900 Born: France
One-time member of the surrealists cast out by Andre Breton for being beyond the pale. A painter and photographer who pioneered the exploration of sexuality outside the norm through mock-victorian staged photos and photo montages made in the 60s and 70s. His photos of himself and others cross-dressing in S&M couture, often shot through a keyhole lens, are technically beautiful, unnerving and comical.
