Biography
1908 Born Corinne West in Chicago, Il
1925 Education: Cincinnati Conservatory of Music; later Cincinnati Art Academy, studying drawing and portraiture under John Weis and Frank Meyers
1927 Continues studies at Art Academy of Cincinnati with Kate Reno Miller, professor of still life painting and figure drawing
1932 Attends first historic Hans Hofmann class at the legendary Art Students League; studies with Raphael Soyer and Kenneth Hayes Miller
1933 Studies with Raphael Soyer
1935 West moves to Rochester and exhibits at the Rochester Memorial Art Gallery, where her Portrait of Manuelle receives attention
1935 Lectured on "The New American Painting" at the Rochester Arts Club, Rochester, NY
