Born in Highland Park, IL. |

Graduated from Goucher College with a degree in Political Science. |

1953 |
|
Married and moved to Chattanooga, TN. |
|
|
1961 |
|
Became the Regional Director of The Experiment in International Living, coordinating host families throughout the Southeast. |
|
|
1968 |
|
Was sent to Tokyo through The Experiment in International Living, where she discovered photography. |
|
|
1974 |
|
Met Lisette Model and studied with her intermittently on trips to New York City. |
|
|
1979 |
|
Awarded Guggenheim Fellowship. |

Moved to lower Manhattan where she built her darkroom and studio. |
