Biography
1942 Born in Edinburgh, Scotland
1970 Moves to the United States with wife Elizabeth, and begins shooting photos, mostly as a hobby
1975 Grammy Award for the photography on the cover of the Mason Profitt album “Come and Gone”.
1976 Moves to New York, and starts his first job for Vogue magazine
1980 ANDY award, Best Editorial Photography
1983 ANDY award, Best Advertising Photography
1989 ANDY award, Best Editorial Photography
2006 Scottish Fashion Awards Hall of Fame
2006 Lucie Award, Outstanding Achievement in Advertising Photography
Named one of the 20 most influential photographers of all time by Photo District News, along with Richard Avedon and Irving Penn, among others.
