Studied at the Massachusetts Normal School, the Cowles Art School, and in Paris for three years, under Raphaël Collin.
Had a studio in New Ipswich, New Hampshire

Exhibited his works at the National Academy of Design, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Boston Art Club
