1875 Born in Provincetown, MA
1893 Enrolled in the St. Louis School of Fine Arts, a branch of Washington University
1898 Received a traveling scholarship, which allowed him to study in Europe
1900 Awarded medal from the Paris salon
1898 - 1901 Atteneded Académie Julian in Paris
1904 Awarded medal from the Paris salon
1906 Discovered Giverny and began teaching at Mary C. Wheeler’s summer school
