1904 Born: in Wolow, Austria
1917 Apprenticed to a jeweler; began sketching
1919 - 1920 Took evening classes at a free art academy, Budapest, Hungary
1921 Studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule (School of Arts and Crafts), Vienna, Austria
1922 Emigrated to New York, NY
Took evening classes at the Educational Alliance Art School, New York, NY
1925 - 1927 Attended classes at the Beaux-Arts Institute of Design, New York, NY
1926 - 1930 Participated to the artist colonies in Woodstock, NY and Provincetown, RI
Studied carving with Robert Laurent at the Art Students League, New York, NY
1933 Awarded Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Fellowship
1937 Won silver medal in Exposition Universelle, Paris, France
1938 Co-founded the Sculptors Guild
