Vincent Giarrano is a realist painter living in Connecticut. His work is based on naturalism; painting scenes or objects in their natural state. Vincent employs a variety of subjects; still lifes, figures and landscapes. The unifying factor is the quiet and sincere moments he captures. He also favors scenes with a cool light; this further enhances the introspective quality of his subjects.

“In my work, Realism isn’t confined to the image alone, I carry it through to the concept as well. I paint what speaks to me about real life experiences. I want my viewer to feel the true to life quality of my scenes. Another major aspect of my work is the degree of resolve that I seek. Our eyes see things in a very particular way, how they focus and what we focus on. My interest is in using the qualities of our perceptions to create a more believable impression.”

Vincent was born in Buffalo, New York in 1960. He started drawing at an early age, teaching himself until his first life drawing class at seventeen. Vincent attended the State University of New York, receiving his BFA. He then went on to Syracuse University for his Masters degree. After college, Vincent lived in New York City, working in the field of illustration. Since moving to Connecticut he has returned to fine art oil painting.
