Biography
1951 Born in Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture, Japan
1971 - 1975 Studied at Tokyo University of Art and Design, B.A.
1975 - 1977 Postgraduate Course at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, M.A.
1984 Awarded Excellence Prize 'Oyama-City with Sculpture'
1985 - 1986 Taught sculpture course at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music
1986 - 1987 Lived in London, one year scholarship from the Bureau of Cultural Properties
1989 Teaches sculpture course at Tokyo University of Arts and Design
1990 - 1991 Taught sculpture course at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music
1991 Awarded Takashimaya Charitable Trust for Art and Culture Prize
1995 Awarded the 26th Nakahara Teijiro Prize for Excellence
1997 Awarded the 18th Hirakushi Denchu Prize
