A major figure in the Staithes School, Senior painted landscape, rustic and coastal subjects. Studied at the Slade School. Exhibited 14 works at the Royal Academy including ‘Pastures by the Sea’, ‘Her Frugal Meal’, ‘Preparing Bait’ and ‘Homewards’. He was a friend of Tonks, Fred Brown and Wilson Steer. Born at Dewsbury. Lived at Leeds and Runswick Bay he is represented in the Leeds Art Gallery and the University Gallery. |
