Biography
1874 Born in Liebau, Silesia (now Poland)
1890 - 1894 Apprenticeship with a lithographer in Görlitz
1894 - 1897 Studies at the Academy of Art in Dresden
1898 Studies in Munich
1908 Moved to Berlin with his wife Maschka
1910 After being rejected by the Berlin Secession, he founded the Neue Secession with Emil Nolde and Max Pechstein
1911 Worked with Heckel and Kirchner on the Baltic coast and at the Moritzburg Lakes near Dresden
1913 Final break-up of the Brücke group, Mueller maintains contact and friendship with the other former members
1914 - 1918 Served in the military for one year during World War I and is briefly hospitalized in 1917
1919 Mueller begins teaching at the Breslau Academy and continues there until his death
1920 - 1929 Extensive travels throughout Eastern Europe
1930 Died on September 24th in a sanatorium near Breslau
