The Sunne Savage Gallery opened on Newbury Street in Boston in 1975 through 1982, representing Contemporary New England and American artists. After working at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston, in 1970-71, Sunne Savage advised corporate, private and museum clients as an art consultant, commencing in 1971. Since 1983, Sunne Savage has advised private collectors as a Private Art Dealer by Appointment. The gallery represents 19th Century American & European painting and sculpture, with a focus on American Modernism, American Impressionism, Impressionism and Modem art. Moore, Monet, Picasso, Chagall, O'Keeffe, Sargent, Marin, Bellows, Homer, Kent, Hassam, Church, Lane and Peale have been placed in private collections. During the months of July & August, Northeast Harbor becomes the Summer location where the collection includes artists of the 20th Century who paint the Maine coast and sea, including Haseltine, Woodbury, Folinsbee, Wyeth, Hartley, Kroll, Porter, Marin, Lane, Church and Sargent at Redfield Gallery.

Since 2005, Christina Neuman Godfrey, Assistant Director, has represented gallery contemporary artists from the Northeast, and has advised on purchases and commissions for private and corporate collections. She also works on art inventory, evaluation, framing, fine art transport, installations, and recommendation for art conservation.

The gallery staff attends the fine art auctions, purchasing artwork on their collector’s behalf, and travels to the major art fairs in the United States and Europe.
