Richard Nathanson worked as an expert in the Impressionist & Twentieth Department of
Sotheby's before setting up his consultancy in 1970. He has arranged many exhibitions
including one-man shows of Bonnard, Rouault [arranged with the artist's family] and Sisley -
the first in London for forty years.
'We strive to give our clients a discrete and particular service which includes acquisition, sale, valuation, conservation, framing. And the showing of clients' pictures in prestigious museums and exhibitions.'
In addition to our advisory service, we have fine works for sale including Bonnard and Rouault. Also a selection of Modigliani drawings reproduced in The Unknown Modigliani - the book and exhibition catalogue of the "Paul Alexandre Modigliani Collection", written by Noel Alexandre, son of Paul, and dedicated 'To my friend Richard Nathanson, whose enthusiasm and artistic sensitivity have encouraged me to publish this account.'
Richard Nathanson exclusively represents the estate of Albert Houthuesen [1903 -1979]. He is preparing the artist’s biography and Catalogue Raisonné.
The website www.houthuesen.com shows work over sixty years – each accompanied by the artist’s words. Also the BBC film on his life. And works in national collections.
