Arion Press is the nation's foremost publisher of deluxe limited edition books with prints by major contemporary artists. Since 1982, publisher and fine printer Andrew Hoyem has collaborated with artists and printmakers on a series of distinguished livres dıartistes, books and portfolios that contain original prints. Among his celebrated editions are Robert Motherwellıs etchings for Joyceıs Ulysses, Richard Diebenkornıs etchings for the Poetry of W. B. Yeats, and Martin Puryearıs woodblock prints for Jean Toomerıs Cane. Other Arion artists include Arakawa, Ida Applebroog, John Baldessari, Mel Bochner, Jim Dine, Carroll Dunham, Alex Katz, Michael Kenna, Mel Kendrick, R. B. Kitaj, Sol LeWitt, Stephen Shore, Kiki Smith (forthcoming), Wayne Thiebaud, and William T. Wiley. Arion prints and portfolios are in the collections of major museums including the Museum of Modern Art, and are exhibited at the International Fine Print Dealers Association print Fair in New York and Ink Miami in Miami Beach. The Arion Press gallery is open daily in its production facility in the San Francisco Presidio, where tours of its letterpress print shop, typefoundry, and bindery are also available to visitors.
