The Jane Kahan Gallery was one of the first in the United States to deal in Picasso ceramics. Also specialists and experts in fine prints, the gallery opened its doors to the public in 1973, allowing private collectors the same opportunities previously available only to galleries (Alexander Kahan was the agent in North America for Chagall's prints and a major distributor of graphics by Miro, Picasso, Renoir, Matisse, Matta among others). The Jane Kahan Gallery was part of the original group that became the International Fine Print Dealers Association and is a long-time member of the Appraisers Association of America.
Today, the Jane Kahan Gallery still specializes in 20th Century European and American art with a particular emphasis on the work of Picasso, Chagall, Leger and Miro. The gallery also handles Picasso ceramics as well as unique pieces by important modern masters. Its collection of modern Aubussons and other tapestries by many of the great artists of the 20th Century is one of the largest in the world and has been featured in numerous art fairs and museums.
Jane Kahan is the world wide agent for the renown realist/surrealist painter, Istvan Sandorfi and represents the contemporary French sculptor, Etienne.
