Van den Akker Antiques and Galerie Van den Akker have become the definitive destination for the modern collector. Opened in 2000 by Rob Copley and Ray Raymakers and later joined by Sean Robins, Van den Akker has an international reputation for an ever changing collection of rare 20th and 21st Century museum quality pieces of furniture and lighting. The collection always includes pieces by internationally renowned European designers such as Gio Ponti, Fontana Arte, Ado Chale, Fernand Dresse, Osvaldo Borsani, Ico Parisi, Jules Leleu, Jean Royere and Raphael, just to name a few.
Van den Akkers' Copley, Raymakers and Robins spend several months per year traveling throughout Europe hand choosing only the best pieces for both galleries while at the same time, always searching for "what's next" in the world of 20th Century design. The Van den Akker galleries were the first to introduce several internationally known designers to the United States such as Ado Chale, Fernand Dresse and Jean Brand.
With two large galleries totally over 7500 square feet of space on Manhattans Upper East Side, both Van den Akker Antiques as well as Galerie Van den Akker are the perfect venue to experience the best of modern design.
Please visit both galleries, Van den Akker Antiques at 230 East 59th Street and Galerie Van den Akker at 210 East 58th Street.
