Studio D'Arte Raffaelli opened its exposition activity in 1984 with a personal exhibition of local artist Tullio Garbari, giving a clear sign of the gallery’s aim through time: promoting painting in its contemporary aspects.
Each exhibition is conceived for the gallery with the cooperation of the artist and is always documented with a catalogue made for the occasion.
The best of Italian, European and American artists of the last twenty years have exposed at the gallery. Common ground has always been painting, even in times when video and photography were dominating fashion.
With 1991 Chèri Samba’s exhibition the Studio is the first in Italy to move towards African Contemporary Art, always working directly with artists and museums for their promotion.
The gallery is always present in the most important art expositions of the world (Bologna, Milan, Frankfurt, Cologne, Basilea, Miami, Zurich, Bruxelles, Madrid).
The Studio has set up widespread cultural relationships: from regional (Exhibition “Passion of Apple”, Non Valley; “Art in the Garden” in Cles; “Art and Wood” in Cavalese, Biennial at Kunsthalle in Merano) to international cooperation (Tate Modern in Liverpool, Ursula Blicke Foundation in Kraichtal/Frankfurt, Iwalewa-Haus form Bayreuch, Tokyo, Gam from Bologna e Bergamo, National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art from San Marino Republic, Palazzo Pretorio in Certaldo).
After twenty years of activity – in the first months of 2005 – the Studio D’Arte Raffaelli moves into the prestigious 16th century Palazzo Wolkenstein in Trento, Via Marchetti 17.
