History
Tim Yarger was raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and upon completing a degree in engineering at the University of Michigan in 1982 he entered the art business. After directing galleries in San Francisco, New York and Beverly Hills, Yarger took over an existing Rodeo Drive gallery in 1997, where he established Timothy Yarger Fine Art (TYFA). Yarger has mounted seminal exhibitions of Western art in the United States, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Barcelona, and Rome.
The Collection
TYFA is grounded in the historic artwork of 19th Century painters, the Modern Masters, pop icons of the 20th Century, and also represents contemporary painters, printmakers, photographers, and sculptors.
Exhibition and Publications
Each calendar year, TYFA mounts over a dozen major exhibitions and promotes scholarship, broad connoisseurship, and public programming by partnering with art historians, critics, and museum professionals, who contribute to the galleries' events and publications. Having published more than a dozen books and numerous exhibition catalogues, TYFA is dedicated to advancing the careers of their artists while contributing to contemporary art scholarship.
International Activities
Timothy Yarger began mounting exhibitions internationally in 1995 Thailand’s first Picasso exhibition. Seven years later, Yarger established an additional gallery location in Bangkok, producing semiannual exhibitions on preeminent 20th Century artists. These exhibitions have included Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Joan Miró, Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, and Roy Lichtenstein as well as group exhibitions of established contemporary artists. In 2009 the gallery celebrated its 20th art exhibition produced in the Asia region.
TYFA also participates in international art fairs and provides exhibitions for other galleries in the United States and abroad.
