Ronald Feldman Fine Arts was founded in November 1971 at 33 East 74th Street by Ronald and Frayda Feldman. In 1982, after one season with both uptown and downtown exhibition spaces, the gallery consolidated at 31 Mercer Street in SoHo. Since its founding, gallery artists have participated in more than 1,500 national and international exhibitions. The gallery exhibits contemporary painting, sculpture, installations, drawings, prints, and hosts performances.Besides its regular exhibition schedule, the Feldman Gallery publishes and distributes graphics, books, and multiples. The gallery has published fifty-two screenprint editions by Andy Warhol, including Ten Portraits of Jews of the Twentieth Century, Myths, Endangered Species, Ads and Moonwalk and currently has the largest selection of Warhol prints, as well as Warhol paintings and drawings. Other editions include Projects, a portfolio of 35 etchings by the Soviet artists Brodsky & Utkin, and Cinderella, a portfolio of seven lithographs by William Wegman. In 1997, the gallery co-published Andy Warhol Prints: A Catalogue Raisonné 1962-1987 (Third Edition), co-edited by Frayda Feldman. In 1990, the Feldman Gallery initiated an ongoing publishing project to raise much-needed funds that benefit both voter registration drives and specific political candidates who support freedom of expression of the arts. The Artists for Freedom of Expression Campaign has included prints by Applebroog, Baldessari, Bartlett, Chunn, Close, Diebenkorn, Dine, Durham, Golub, Grooms, Halley, Holzer, Johns, Kelly, Lichtenstein, Mitchell, Motherwell, Murray, Nauman, Oldenburg, Rauschenburg, Rosenquist, Ruscha, Schlossberg, Schnabel, Serra, Sherman, Spero, Weems, and Wegman.
