Debra Heimerdinger/fine art photographs relocated from San Francisco to North Carolina in 2006 shifting from a gallery-based operation to one that is primarily web-based. Now located in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Asheville, Debra Heimerdinger represents a select number of contemporary and established artists as well as the estates of two documentary photographers active in the 1930s and 1940s. She also offers works from a carefully chosen owned inventory.

Her dual mission is to work closely with the artists she represents and to provide a high level of personal service to her clients. To this end she arranges exhibitions, publishes platinum/palladium editions, places works in significant collections, authors books, arranges publication of magazine articles, and occasionally exhibits at trade shows such as AIPAD’s Photography Show and Photo L.A.

To her business she brings twenty years of experience as a curator, editor, writer, and gallery director in the field of fine art photography. Her involvement in book publishing led her to publish limited editions of platinum/palladium photographs. She began a series in 1996 that includes titles by Ruth Bernhard [Classic Torso, Perspective II, Sand Dune, Spanish Dancer, Rockport Nude], Keith Carter [The Venice Folio], James Fee [New York Skyline from Brooklyn], David Halliday [Makassar Strait] and Hansel Mieth [Boys on the Road].

She is the agent for the estate of Hansel Mieth and Otto Hagel, noted documentary photographers of the 1930s and 1940s. The DH Fine Art inventory has in-depth selections of work by represented artists, as well as a range of titles from sold-out editions by Keith Carter, James Fee, Jack Spencer, Nick Brandt, Sally Mann, Richard Misrach and John Dugdale.

Debra Heimerdinger is the author of Horace Bristol: An American View [Chronicle Books, 1996] and Re-Arrangements [Chronicle Books, 1993]. Her current publishing project is a book on the lives and photographs of Hansel Mieth and Otto Hagel
