Thank you for inquiring about our Gallery. The David David Gallery was founded in 1910 and has always dealt in the areas of premiere quality paintings, watercolors, drawings and sculptures, of European and American origin from the 16th through 20th century. The Gallery mounts exhibitions several times a year and offers a full range of appraisal services for corporate, institutional and private collectors. It is extremely active in the art market, and is always interested in the acquisition, sale, and brokerage of Fine Art. The current emphasis relating to the general course of business is on American and European Impressionism and major landscape paintings of the Nineteenth century. A very broad base of clients has been developed over the three generations of the company's existence, so that it is essential that the inventory maintain a sufficient diversity to satisfy the variety of client needs. Approximately 95% of the inventory is company owned, while certain works are client owned but, managed and offered for sale by the Gallery. The Gallery now exclusively represents the Estate of Carol Sirak (1906-1976). Carol Sirak worked primarily in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, along the Delaware River and worked with such artists as Daniel Garber and Edward Redfield. The Gallery philosophy embraces the concept of hard work, hands on dedication, relentless endeavor, and spares nothing to achieve the goals of excellence in all pursuits. The continual building of the Gallery's private reference library is of utmost importance, as it serves to document much of the work which passes through the establishment. The David name carries with it the grand tradition of beauty, quality, and integrity. The heritage clearly defines the visions of tomorrow with all that is achieved today.
We are proud to represent the works of Karl J. Kuerner exclusively, extraordinary painter of the Brandywine River Tradition. Karl is the grandson of the world renowned "Karl Kuerner", who was such an important subject matter of Andrew Wyeth. Through Karl's paintings we are able to take a glimpse into the mysterious allure of the Brandywine and its abundant nature. The Wyeths and The Kuerners are forever intertwined as history has merged their paths and forged them into the future. A Catalogue from a Major Retrospective Exhibition, "Close Encounters- A Chadds Ford Heritage" is available
We are also proud to represent the works of Jennifer Ann Zucco exclusively, a brilliant Connecticut Impressionist painter, whose works transcend time and take us back to the turn of the 20th century when there was a mood of gentle and carefree spirit. With the subtle inspiration of Sargent, Chase, Cassatt and Beaux, her paintings expertly reflect the quietude and elegance of the era. Her landscapes, seascapes, architectural renditions, still life works and figurative paintings as well, are all equally wonderful portraits of her vision.
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance to you.
