Concept Art Gallery has provided fine and decorative arts, art consultation services and in-house custom framing to Pittsburgh and the tri-state region since 1972.
The Gallery represents many of the regions established as well as emerging artists, and artists of national and international reputation. There is an emphasis on Contemporary Realist painting and historic and idustrial images of Pittsburgh.
Concept Art Gallery has a unique specialty in the secondary market of historic regional painters Roy Hilton, Aaron Gorson, Samuel Rosenberg, and Henry Koerner. Photographers Luke Swank, Selden Davis and Orlando Romig are also an important regional specialty. The Gallery has a wide inventory of Contemporary prints by well known American and European Artists, including; Andy Warhol, Louise Bourgeouis, Romare Bearden, Henry Moore, Joan Miro, Alexander Calder and many others. Concept is very active in secondary market sales from local corporations and important local collections.
The gallery recently represented Alcoa in the worldwide disposition of their artwork, featuring a large group of works formerly owned by G. David Thompson. Gallery owner and director Sam Berkovitz is a licensed auctioneer and a certified member of the Appraisers Association of America. He has consulted to numerous area collectors and museums, including; The Carnegie Museum of Art, The Warhol Museum, The Westmoreland Museum of Art and the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art. The Gallery offers in-house archival framing services, accompanied by a vast selection of mouldings.
Concept Art Gallery works closely with a wide variety of clientele; the first time art buyer, corporate and institutional customers and serious collectors are all welcome to the renovated two-story gallery space. Concept Art Gallery is easily accessed from major highways and is conveniently located near The Carnegie Museum of Art and The Frick Art Museum and Historical Center.
