In 1963, Michael Werner opened his first gallery, Werner & Katz, in Berlin, Germany with Georg Baselitz's first solo exhibition. Galerie Michael Werner was later established in Köln in 1969. Since then, Galerie Michael Werner has been a leader in representing and exhibiting prominent American and European artists, with a concentration on German contemporary art. Michael Werner Gallery opened its doors in New York in 1990. In addition to American and European painting, sculpture and drawing, we also specialize in modern masterworks.

Michael Werner Kunsthandel opened in Cologne in September 2008.
