After 15 years of work with diverse galleries in Europe and New York, Fernando Pradilla opened the Gallery El Museo in the city of Bogota (Colombia) in 1987, a project dedicated to the promotion and diffusion of Colombian and Latin American art with a local and international projection.

As a result of the difficulties that Colombia is going through, because of a progressive deterioration of the collection funds and the clear isolation from curators, critics and international collectors; its director opened, in September of 2001, the Gallery Fernando Pradilla in Madrid, Spain. This is a new space for the exhibition of Latin-American, Spanish and international art, through artists directly represented by the Gallery or in collaboration with some of the most important Latin American galleries in the world. This way, the interests that rise from the opening of El Museo Gallery in Bogotá, have been ratified.

The national and international efforts to search for a globalization strategy, have allowed El Museo gallery to place itself within the international dynamic of the art market, thanks to the representation of diverse media, in which they are already established in Latin American and other emerging young talents. The Gallery Fernando Pradilla opens its doors like a parallel project which confirms the interest of spreading and promoting the best of Latin American, Spanish and international Contemporary art through Spain and the European continent.

During the fall of 2007, Galería Fernando Pradilla opened a new space: “Proyectos Fernando Pradilla” that, as its name indicates, has the intention of site-specific projects, involving artists of all generations, being a new platform for all types of artistic expressions, with the freedom and the flexibility that a gallery doesn’t have.
In this new space, more attention is given to emergent artists with contemporary languages, such as video and installation, involving also independent curators to create specific projects, specially developed for the space.
