Established in Notting Hill since 1987, the gallery has an exhibition programme of contemporary artists from Britain and abroad, themed survey exhibitions and retrospectives of British artists working from the 1930s to 1960s. Illustrated catalogues accompany many exhibitions.
The gallery represents a number of emerging and established contemporary artists. It also holds a regularly changing stock of 20th-century art and buys or takes work on consignment from estates and private collections. It also acts for the estates of a number of artists.
England & Co advises private collectors and works with institutions and corporate collections. The gallery has sold many contemporary and 20th-century works to public collections, including Tate, the Imperial War Museum, Victoria & Albert Museum, Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, Museum of London, National Gallery of Australia, the Arts Council of Great Britain and the British Museum.
