GALLERY HISTORY
Whitford Fine Art was founded in 1972 by Louise Whitford and Adrian Mibus. Operating from premises in Belgravia, the Whitford Gallery dealt in Belle Epoque, Orientalism, Pre-Raphaelites, Symbolism and Vienna Secession. When in 1982 the Whitford Gallery associated with David Hughes, the gallery moved to its current premises on 6 Duke Street, St.James's.

Whitford and Hughes continued dealing in the arts of 1880-1930 and developed a distinctive specialisation in Belgian painting and French inter-war Cubism. Their exhibition catalogues have become collectables for anybody with an interest in these fields. After David Hughes’ retirement in 1992, Adrian Mibus continued the gallery as Whitford Fine Art. Since he has refocussed on French and British 20th Century art, including the movements of Cubism, Modernism, Ecole de Paris, Post-war Abstraction and British Pop Art. Whitford Fine Art is also renowned in the field of Diego Giacometti bronze furniture.

Over the years, Adrian Mibus has been involved in the forming of high-profile private and public collections both in the fields of the fine and decorative arts. Over three decades his interests have developed and altered but always proven to be visionary. Remaining one step ahead of the market Adrian Mibus continues offering clients a safe investment.

Adrian Mibus' keen eye for collecting, his enthusiastic personality and visionary have been the subject of many magazine reviews:
