The Albert Merola Gallery has been in business in Provincetown since 1987. For the first few years, it was called UFO (Universal Fine Objects) Gallery. This reflected our idea at the time of presenting fine art and objects together. With our focus now on contemporary and modern artists with ties to Provincetown, we have expanded the scope of our original idea.
The Provincetown thread connects internationally known artists as well as emerging talents and prominent figures from the past. It has been our desire to “keep the fires burning” in Provincetown, to be able to bring the best of contemporary and historically significant art to our audience here, at the same time showing our artists’ work to as broad an audience as possible.
We also have over twenty years experience in dealing with Picasso Ceramics.
We are pleased to represent the estate of Fritz Bultman, an important figure in the New York School, a member of the “Irascibles”, and a major influence on the Provincetown art scene.
The sole owners of the gallery are Albert Merola and James Balla.
