Galería Carles Taché, founded and directed since 1986 by Carles Taché
(Barcelona 1947), is located in Consell de Cent in Barcelona's centre;
this street has emerged as the compulsory centre for Spanish and foreign
contemporary art lovers. The gallery is a member of the Associació Art Barcelona
(with Carles Taché as president for eight years) and the Asociación Nacional de
Galerías de Arte. On an international scale, it has participated and
participates in the most important Contemporary Art Fairs such as:
FIAC (Paris), Art Cologne, Chicago Art Fair,
ARCO (Madrid) or Art Brussels, amongst others.
The gallery also regularly collaborates with other galleries, institutions, foundations,
and national and international museums. Art editions have also been accomplished
during the lifetime of the gallery.
Since its opening, the gallery has been distinguished with several awards
such as: the 1987 and 2000 ACCA awards by the Art Critics Association,
and the 1990 City of Barcelona Award.
Carles Taché, has been a member of the Committee of Feria de
Arte Contemporáneo de Madrid (ARCO) from 1991 to 1993, and the 2000
and 2001 editions. He has also been a member of the Trust Board of the
Fundació Tàpies since its creation in 1984 to 1996. Currently, Carles Taché
teaches as invited professor in the master seminars at the Master de
Gestíon de Instituciones Culturales of the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya
and also in postgraduate courses of the Universidad de Girona.
