After huge success of 2007 Autumn Auction realized a spectacular total of almost US$1.6million and sold over 92% of 184 lots, Kingsley’s Spring Auction 2008 will be held on 31 May in Taipei Cathay Financial Chamber (9 Songren Rd., Xinyi District, Taipei, Taiwan). A careful and superb selection of Chinese and Asian Modern and Contemporary art will be presented in this auction, including oil on canvas, sculpture, photography, lithograph, china, mixed media, and etc.
The sale will offer Taiwanese sculptor Ju Ming’s signature artwork -- bronze sculpture Tachi Series-Single Whip, which expect to create another artistic peak. Another highlight in the sale is Quotation of Chairman Mao by Chinese Contemporary star artist Zeng Fan-Zhi. Unlike political propaganda’s passionate atmosphere, Zeng uses precise technique to depict the figure’s determination. Catching viewers’ attention is Yue Min-Jun’s Joy, painted in 2000. Yue Min-Jun has always been a unique Chinese Contemporary artist. He uses simple and common colors and multiplies self silly images, which creates the humor so powerfully contagious that erases people’s pain.
